Bilkit Githinji is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. Bilkit’s research interests center on learning-based robot manipulation. Her current research focuses on generalizing human-in-the-loop robotic systems that interact with non-rigid objects. More generally, she is motivated to understand in what ways robots should interact with the world to safely and efficiently learn robust policies. Bilkit is also an MIT Lemelson Engineering Presidential Fellow and an Alfred P. Sloan 2019-20 Scholar. Bilkit received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where she worked as a Pathways Intern at NASA JSC’s Software, Robotics and Simulation Division. ​
