Kimberly is a PhD Student in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. She received her B.S. in Bioengineering with Honors from the University of California, Riverside. She is currently co-advised by Dr. Paula Hammond and Dr. Joelle Straehla, and works on developing new nanocarriers to treat pediatric brain tumors. As a the first in her family to go to college and a first generation Mexican-American, Kimberly is passionate about mentoring other disadvantaged students and helping them navigate STEM/academia.
