Feyisayo (Sayo) Eweje is a Ph.D. student in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics with a concentration in Bioengineering in the Health Sciences & Technology (HST) department at MIT. He is also an HST M.D. candidate at Harvard Medical School as part of the joint M.D./Ph.D. program. His research is focused on the design and implementation of self-assembling nanoparticles for delivery of macromolecular cargo to targeted cell populations. Sayo received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Sciences with a focus in bioengineering, Cum Laude, with a minor in African American Studies from Harvard College in 2019. His undergraduate research was centered on the development of in vitro cardiovascular tissue models for drug screening and disease modeling. Sayo is an active servant of his community, currently serving as an HST public service chair and a coordinator for multiple outreach programs for underserved high school students. He is also passionate about global health equity, serving as a co-founder and managing director of nonprofit focused on strengthening primary healthcare systems by empowering community health workers with information technology.
